Who we are
The Black Law Initiative is a community movement dedicated to ensuring that the future of the Black Law Wind Farm is shaped by and for the people who live around it. We believe that renewable energy infrastructure should be a source of long-term pride and prosperity for local residents, rather than just a commercial asset.
Our purpose is to investigate and advocate for a community-led repowering model. As the original wind farm reaches its end-of-life, we are exploring how new turbines can be developed in a way that maximizes community ownership, generates local revenue, and supports sustainable regional development.
We work closely with local communities, providing transparent information and a platform for collective decision-making. By joining forces, we can demand a fairer share of the benefits produced by our natural resources, preserving the unique character of the Black Law landscape for generations to come.

The Trust is a community-owned charity dedicated to sustainable development in the Forth Valley. SJ Cole, a specialist in community-led renewable projects, leads their efforts within the Blacklaw Initiative to ensure technical feasibility meets local aspirations.
Soul of the Junction SCIO
Founding organisation
Soul of the Junction is a local charity focused on heritage and community cohesion. Silviya Savova manages the charity's involvement, bringing a deep understanding of local social Dynamics and ensuring that community voices remain at the heart of the Initiative.
SJ Cole and Silviya Savova are coordinating the early stages of The Blacklaw Initiative’s development. We expect more local and regional organisations to join our partnership coalition over time as we grow.
